Palladian style architecture is a classical style named after architect Andrea Palladio whose work influenced European architecture from the early 17th century. He was heavily influenced by classical forms of architecture in Ancient Greece and Rome. Today’s Palladian style architecture is an evolution of his work by architects throughout the 18th century. Some hallmarks of Palladianism are symmetry, proportion, tempo fronts (columns topped with a pediment), and Venetian windows.
